Our Story

Jurassic Bees is a family-run apiary in Owermoigne, Dorset. Our bees forage meadows, farmland and the wild Jurassic Coast, producing raw Dorset honey that’s as unique as the landscape itself.

Every jar is raw and unpasteurised, retaining the natural enzymes, pollen and rich flavour that supermarket honey often loses. We focus on careful hive management and bee health so that quality comes first.

Whether it’s a spoonful in tea, drizzled over porridge or baked into recipes, you’ll taste the authentic flavour of Dorset countryside honey in every jar.

Raw Honey FAQ

Is your honey organic?

No — honey cannot legally be sold as “organic” in the UK because bees can forage up to 3 miles from the hive. However, nothing is added or taken away — our honey is raw, natural, and unpasteurised.

Is your honey heated?

No — our honey is never heated above the natural hive temperature. It’s cold-filtered to remove wax particles but retains its enzymes, pollen and full flavour.

Can children eat raw honey?

Raw honey should not be given to babies under 12 months due to the rare risk of infant botulism. It is safe for older children and adults.

Why does honey crystallise?

Crystallisation is a natural process caused by glucose forming crystals. It’s a sign the honey is raw and unprocessed. To return it to runny, place the jar in warm (not boiling) water.
