How are colonies managed for health and biosecurity?
Colonies are raised to NBU-aligned hygiene standards, with routine disease checks and IPM varroa control. Queens are selected for docility and reliable brood patterns.
Do you offer a guarantee?
We guarantee a queenright, healthy colony at handover. If anything isn’t as expected on arrival, contact us immediately so we can help.
How do I move and install a full hive safely?
Transport in the cool of the evening with entrances secured and mesh ventilation. Place the hive in its final position, open the entrance, add feed if needed, and allow a few days before your first inspection.
Full hive vs nuc — which should I choose?
Choose a full colony for the fastest start and honey potential this season. Pick a nuc for a lower entry cost and to grow the colony yourself. See Nucs for Sale UK for options.
Can I request a specific queen type?
Our standard lines are Buckfast (occasionally Carniolan). Tell us your preference at checkout or contact us — availability varies with the season.
