Terms and Conditions

These terms and conditions and all transactions relating to this website are governed by English law and are subject to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of English courts. We reserve the right to change these terms and conditions at any time; any changes will take effect on the date they are posted on the site, as indicated below.

CANCELLATIONS AND RETURNS

We accept returns for items up to 14 days (excluding live bees and queens) after you have received them. To return an item, please contact us first either by email at JurassicBees@outlook.com or by telephone at 07769921138, stating your order number and reason for return. All returns must be complete, unused, and in 'as new' condition (e.g., if you have opened the box to examine the product, you must have done so without damaging or marking the product in any way). The item must be returned with the original box if possible. Return postage is to be paid by you (unless the item is faulty). You will receive a full refund via your original payment method (excluding the original delivery charge). If your order was delivered free, we reserve the right to deduct a delivery charge.

LIVE BEES AND QUEENS

Cancellations of orders for live bees or queens can be made up to and including the day of collection or within 24 hours prior to dispatch for queens and 36 hours prior to dispatch for nucleus bees. All deposits on both nucs and queens are non-refundable. Refunds for cancelled nuc orders paid in full prior to delivery or collection will be given minus the deposit.

Fully paid queen orders that are cancelled will be refunded minus an admin fee of £5. Deposits paid on live queens are non-refundable.

Returns will NOT be accepted under any circumstances and no refunds will be issued once live bees or queens have been collected or dispatched to the customer. If we are unable to supply your order and need to cancel your live bee order, we will refund any deposit paid in full.

Please see Delivery & Returns for detailed information regarding postage options for live queen bees.

If you have any concerns upon receipt of your mated queen or nucleus of bees, you must contact us on the same day by telephone or, ideally, email. We will do our best to address any concerns or problems you have.

All nucs come with a 5-day guarantee, as outlined in the care sheet sent with your invoice. Should problems arise later, we are happy to offer advice; however, once a queen or nucleus has been introduced into a hive, we will not be held responsible. If your queen order arrives and the queen is dead, you must contact us by phone the same day. We will instruct you on how to return the dead queen to us. A dead queen will be replaced once only. We will not accept back dead queens if the cage has been tampered with or if the cage has been offered to your hive or nucleus.

GENERAL STOCK ORDERS (not live bees)

Goods are dispatched once payment has cleared. We strive to dispatch orders received before 12 noon on the same day; however, during the beekeeping season, your orders may not be dispatched until the following day. You will receive email confirmation when the order is placed, when we are processing your order, and when your order is on its way or ready for collection.

We use FedEx or Royal Mail Tracked48 for deliveries of stock items (not live bees). You will receive notification with tracking details. FedEx can leave your parcel in a safe place upon request, but please note that any orders left without a signature, as per your instructions, are your responsibility.

Delivery costs are calculated based on the overall weight of the order. Pallet orders, which must be placed by email or telephone, take between 2 and 3 days.

Please note that boxes of glass jars are collection only. In certain circumstances, we can deliver for £10 per box, but delivery is at your own risk as our carriers do not insure them. If you wish to buy single boxes of glass jars, please email your order and we will contact you. Pallet orders for jars can be delivered; please email your order.

Orders including mated queens and general stock items are processed and sent out separately, except for mated queens ordered with queen introduction cages. If you are ordering general stock and mated queens, please process them separately. Combining them may incur additional carriage costs.

There are various delivery options; if you choose the wrong one, we will contact you to amend the order.

We can deliver to Scotland, the Scottish Highlands and Islands, Northern Ireland, and Southern Ireland. Please email us at JurassicBees@outlook.com with your postcode and order details for a delivery quote. If you place the order through our online shop, we will contact you with any additional shipping costs.

We can also deliver to other countries, but you must contact us via email for a quote. Note: We do not ship live bees or queens abroad.

All orders are also available for collection from Andover. Unfortunately, collection from Headley is no longer available. Just select this option during checkout, and we will contact you when your order is ready.

RETURN OF FAULTY GOODS

If you receive faulty goods, please contact us by email at JurassicBees@outlook.com or by telephone at 07769921138, quoting your name and order number. We will advise you on how to return them and offer you the choice of an exchange or refund if the fault occurs within 28 days of delivery. To qualify for a refund or exchange, the product must be in 'as-new' condition, complete with any accessories, and if possible, in the original box and packaging.

This promise does not cover faults caused by accident, neglect, misuse, or normal wear and tear. For consumable items (e.g., foods), the guarantee period is three months from delivery.

Any refund due to a fault or other defect will include a refund of applicable delivery/return charges. Replacement goods are sent by standard delivery only.

PERSONAL DATA

All personal data will be treated as confidential, and we fully comply with the UK Data Protection Act.

We request that all buyers register their new colonies with Beebase on the National Bee Unit website. If you buy bees from us, we will pass your details to the NBU unless you ask us not to. Beebase supports Defra, WAG, and Scotland's Bee Health Programmes, as well as the Healthy Bees Plan, all of which help to protect and sustain our valuable national bee stocks. Registering with Beebase is free and provides the security of being notified about any bee health issues in your area, with free inspections if necessary.
