Missed out on spring bees? Our Summer Langstroth nucs are a fantastic way to expand your apiary later in the season. Raised in Dorset on the Jurassic Coast, these colonies are supplied on 6 deep Langstroth frames with brood at all stages, pollen, and honey stores for rapid growth.
Choose between a UK-mated Buckfast queen for calm temperament and steady productivity, or a UK-mated Carniolan queen for fast summer build-up and excellent honey yields. Both are vigorous, freshly mated queens raised in 2026 and supplied marked for easy identification.
These nucs are perfect for swarm control, making splits, or boosting hive numbers during summer. They build quickly on long nectar flows and set you up with a strong colony to overwinter for the following season. Total cost: £330 with free mainland UK delivery.

Availability (Summer)
Summer Langstroth nucs are available for June delivery. You’ll be notified at least two weeks before your nuc is ready for collection or dispatch.
Looking for a different timing? Overwintered Langstroth nucs are ready in April, and Spring Langstroth nucs are available from May.
- 6 x DN4 frames of bees (with a minimum of 3 frames containing brood in all stages - BIAS)
- 1 x Queen as per the description.
- 1 x Paynes Poly Nucleus with a ventilated lid and side feeder less than 8 months old
- All frames and foundation less than 12 months old, marked green to indicate year they were put into service
