Create a protective, lick-safe balm to soothe cracked pads and dry noses. Beeswax forms a breathable barrier while shea and coconut deeply condition.

Ingredients (Scaled to ~100 mL)
  • Beeswax (grated) — 20 g
  • Shea butter — 20 g
  • Coconut oil — 30 g
  • Olive or sweet almond oil — 30 mL
  • Vitamin E — 1–2 mL (optional)
Instructions
  1. Set a double boiler to ~70 °C.
  2. Melt beeswax, shea and coconut; add oil and stir until homogenous.
  3. Remove from heat. Cool to 45–50 °C, stir in vitamin E.
  4. Pour into tins; allow 1–2 hours to set before lidding.

Chapped Skin Salve

A centuries-old, ultra-simple salve that helps prevent and heal chapping and rough skin. Great farmhand pocket tin.

Ingredients (Scaled to ~100 mL)
  • Beeswax — 50 g
  • Olive oil — 50 g (~55 mL)
Instructions
  1. Warm to melt in a double boiler (≈70 °C).
  2. Stir smooth and pour to tins.
  3. Harden at room temperature, then lid and label.

Honey Lip Balm

Category: Lip care • Yield: ~100 mL (≈ 12–14 tubes)

Rich, glide-on lip balm sweetened with a touch of Dorset honey. Vitamin E slows oxidation for longer freshness.

Ingredients (Scaled to ~100 mL)
  • Beeswax (grated) — 42 g
  • Extra-virgin olive oil — 57 g (~62 mL)
  • Honey — 2.5 mL
  • Vitamin E — 0.1–0.2 mL
Instructions
  1. Melt beeswax with olive oil gently (~70 °C).
  2. Off heat, blend in honey; add vitamin E.
  3. Pour to tubes/tins; allow 24–36 h to reach final set.

Basic Lotion Bar
